I love this couch!
This has become one of my most favorite spots to be in this apartment.
This couch is special to me because it was one of the very first things I bought and had made when I moved to Boston four and a half years ago.
It's big, comfy and has always been a safe and comfortable place to land on the craziest of days.
I did my final confirmation for the movers to show up on 4/28 today. After I hung up the phone, I had a moment where I said to myself, "Jodi, you paid an arm and a leg for this couch...and you love it...why are you doing this?"
I have to expect that there will be many more moments like this over the next 15 days.
Moments of appreciation, nostalgia, gratitude and fear of letting go with the reaction to want to hold on to my "stuff"...
As I coached myself through the fear response I was having, I was able to shift my thoughts and understand that as I prepare let go of one of my favorite things, I am reminded that...it is just a couch.
The couch didn't create the feeling of home and peace I have found in this space and have grown to love so much...
Home isn't about the things or the "stuff"...it is about the experience you create for yourself no matter where you may be in this world....your couch or someone else's 😃.
